Political ideal and Social Model as expoused by David Cameron (current UK Prime Minister and leader of the Con-Dem coalition) whereby the public still pay for, but do not recieve public services.
Dave: Hey Brian i've paid my taxes, but noones cleaning the roads, chasing off the druggies or educating my children.

Brian: That's Big-Society for you Dave.

Dave: Can't believe I voted for that wanker.

A diversionary political policy conceived by David Cameron emphasising civic responsibilities as his Con-Dem coalition eliminates entitlement and services spending in a futile attempt to repay a ballooning national debt accumulated recklessly through years of financial mismangement by the Labour Party and the bailout of criminal entities in the City of London. It's the inevitable result of a political and economic system seized by the establishment in order to consolidate all remaining wealth into their hands while abandoning the rest of society to subsist in a crumbling post-industrial wasteland on the precipice of economic collapse.
Nick: Hey Dave, why is the hospital closed?
Dave: Don't worry Nick, the Big Society will handle it.
